Meet Your Instructor, Nancy

I’m your instructor—and a clinician who understands how complex bedside communication really is. I’ve worked across high-stress healthcare environments where time is limited, emotions run high, and the smallest interaction can shape trust, safety, and outcomes. This course was built not from theory alone, but from lived clinical experience—supporting patients, families, and healthcare professionals in moments that matter. I also bring the perspective of having been a patient myself, and of supporting loved ones through the healthcare system—experiences that sharpened my understanding of how communication feels on the other side of the bed. My goal is not perfection at the bedside. It’s better: more awareness, steadier presence, and communication that protects dignity—for patients and clinicians.
